About Us

The Anglican Parish of St Matthew's, Masterton

In 2021 the Parish undertook a journey called the ‘Mission Action Plan’ process, where we met in small groups and collectively listened to God for the future of the Parish. The Way Ahead document, was the fruit of this work as to where we sense God is leading us in the coming years. The document can be read by clicking this link: The Way Ahead

The Anglican Parish of St Matthew's, Masterton incorporates three worship centres:  St Alban's, Taueru, St Andrew's, Upper Plain, St Matthew's, Masterton.

We celebrate Unity in Our Diversity with several styles of worship services.

We enjoy a culture of Discipleship that encourages all members and participants to be committed to various groups and programmes.  To realise our mission statement we believe in discovering, “Who am I becoming?” and not just, “What am I doing?”

We are unashamed of the Gospel of Christ who has called us to be His disciples, and so believe all are welcomed to come as they are. It can make for a messy church, but Jesus knows our needs and through the Holy Spirit and our willing obedience, will change all of us from being the last, the least and the lost.

Our aim is to be a safe and caring environment for those seeking to explore their faith in God Almighty, and His Son Jesus, through the work of the Holy Spirit.
